We were making a tunnel and pushing through the earth. We
were covered in dirt and grime. The machines were roaring in the background. By now we were sweating, with our overalls on we dug by hand
though the 100 metre tunnel. Dynamite was crashing behind us! We were trapped
in the dark. Sad we would not see our familys ever again. Trapped with 4 other
people. We had little food and water to share between us. After 5 days we were
cold, starving and very thirsty. We all wondered, if we would ever get out
alive!!!
