One dark night, a car pulled up beside the edge of
the woods. Two men got out, one was very tall and one was very short, and
walked to the back of the car. They opened the boot and lifted out the couch,
with a cat on it and went into the woods. When they got far enough they dropped
it and left it there, with the cat sleeping on it .The cat was very black. The
woods the men left the couch in, was in Alaska. Winter had just started. The couch began to freeze, and the cat froze
too. Years later, they turned to stone.

A very original idea to have the sofa and cat frozen like that. You capture the reader's interest straight off with the description of these mysterious men pulling up by a wood. Try to find alternative words to avoid repeating ones like car and wood and men.
