Endangered Animals Should Not Be Saved:

I do not think Endangered Animals should be saved, and I have many reasons for this. Number One is that they are a waste of space, and Number Two is the fact that we use up all of our resources on helping them. Species go extinct all the time anyway. As well as individual species dying out, there have been a few mass extinctions that obliterated hordes of species. The most recent one, 65 million years ago, took out the dinosaurs.

Endangered Animals are a Waste of Space:

It can be hard sometimes to understand why we would want to share our planet with creatures that threaten our livestock and civilisations, such as Wolves. Not only that, they take up space that could be used for housing, something that will soon be needed more than ever due to overpopulation.

Endangered Animals use up our Resources:

A study conducted in 2012 estimated that is would cost $76 billion a year to preserve endangered land animals, but saving all of the endangered marine animals might cost way more. Why not spend that money on housing, or food?

Conclusion:

To rephrase my first statement, I do not think endangered animals should be saved. They use valuable space and money, and destroy our livestock.

Jasmine - Week 4

I have a very strong opinion about animal. I think that they should NOT be saved. There are reasons why they should be saved but there are also reasons why they should NOT be saved and I think sometimes that we forget about the reasons why animals should NOT be saved.

Firstly pest, pest are well how do I put this they are PEST’S and in order to save all the birds in the bush we need to kill all the pests and that is taking a long time and a lot of money, just think of the brook sanctuary and the fence I bet it costed something like 5 million dollars. All just to save animals. And the 1080 all these arguments just to save the animals it’s just a waste of time if you ask me.

Secondly some of us want to be vegetarians and that's fine but some of us don't , if we save the animals then we won't be able to cook and eat those lovely roast pork and lamb and I think I would much rather eat an animal than save them.

Lastly cow fart gas also known methane. The cows are farting out methane and it is going up in the sky and making a hole in the ozone layer. Which will lead to more global warming.

So I think I have made myself clear that animals should NOT be saved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matthew - Week 4

So many arguments are being had that endangered animals should not be saved and i'm gonna tell why they should not be saved.

The world is being overpopulated with humans and animals that is why we need lots of land to make more houses for the increasing number of people being born every year and for hobo’s so they can have a happy life in a home, but we don't have a lot of the land in the world that land we don't have belongs to the animals so we need to demolish what they have and make houses on their turf and they can go off somewhere else while we make more houses out of the land that we get from demolishing endangered and non endangered animal’s homes.

The reason why they were endangered and started decreasing population is because we have enough living things on this planet already and they’re being killed rapidly because its prey are trying to help decrease the population so they can have more food instead of having to share with them.

All over the world people are desperately trying to help endangered animals such as the kiwi and spend so much effort and time putting traps for its prey and most times the prey avoid the traps and some catch kiwi which make all the trap setters efforts useless and irrelevant to the cause.

Therefor animals are a pain and we need to stop saving them. Matt

Why we should NOT save endangered animals!

It is my strong opinion that we should refrain from saving endangered animals as this could result in catastrophic issue’s not just for mankind but for the entire world.

Firstly may I ask you have we not learnt anything from those before us. Just imagine how different the world would be today if that asteroid two million  years ago had missed, the smallest of actions can result in giant consequences. For those of  you  who don’t know what the butterfly effect is, it is related to newton's third law of physics (every action will result in an equal and opposite reaction), a butterfly flapping its wings can result in a tropical storm half way across the globe. If that asteroid had missed and then the dinosaurs might still roam this earth. The ash that fell from the sky’s all that time ago that caused an ice age which ended allowing the first mammals to evolve. Without that asteroid we wouldn’t be around to  its tail. Time has taught us that without extinction we can’t have evolution in order for other species to thrive  some must in turn become extinct. If we are to attempt to save every endangered species in turn are we prepared to face our potential extinction as a result?

Secondly if we are to continue to save every endangered species in sight how are we going to find funds.  Public donations will only go so far will we be asked to start paying additional tax? In the current day there are many major problems facing society for example: climate change, overpopulation, poverty, hunger, etc. If we  are to evolve as a species we must make a decision on what problems we prioritise.  

Lastly although when you think of endangered species the first ones to come to mind are probably something along the lines of….. Sumatran Tiger, Elephant, Killer Whale,Kiwi you probably don’t consider smaller less  well known creatures such as  the Tahoe Stonefly or the Barberry Carpet Moth. And now that you have, you probably don’t care I mean who would it's a moth and a fly right. Well answer me this if you are happy to donate twenty dollars to the Sumatran Tiger fund but when asked about an endangered moth  of you scoff. Why do you donate money in the first place?

In conclusion now that I have proven my point I wish to finish by reinstating my opinion that we should NOT save endangered animals.

Abby - Week 4

Endangered animals should not be saved because there are so many animals in our world already. We have an estimated number of 1,203,375 animals in our world today, including corals, fish, insects, etc. Some animals are very big and intelligent, there has been theories that certain animals could take over the world if they wanted too such as the Cape Buffalo, Brazilian Wandering Spider, and the Brown Tree Snake. They have been proved to be so popular, that if they wanted to they COULD just take over the world. A lot of animals also appear in households, which can be dangerous for little children, but still can be harmful for adults as well.

Some endangered animals have been particularly risky as well, haven’t we forgotten our long lost dinosaur friends? They were way more ferocious and larger than most of the animals living on our earth today! We should be lucky that they don’t exist. A group of animals have been responsible for the deaths of 725,000 people a year, that is the trusty Mosquito. It’s such a tiny animal yet causes so much damage to the human race, along with the average sized snake killing 50k humans a year.

There are some animals who are also pretty much pointless in the world, like the sloth; this creature does nothing but sleep, and they only move when necessary. But when sloths do move they move 4 metres in the trees per minute, and 2 metres on the ground per minute. If these animals were to become extinct, nothing would really change. And we all can’t forget the oh so lovely fly. They are pestering creatures that fly around you and make weird noises, poop on your walls, sit on your food, and just annoying the crap out of you. Unfortunately, these animals have the huge population of 17 quadrillion! They all good-for-nothings. So if they were also to become extinct, the world would probably be a better place.

This is why I believe endangered animals should not be saved, we have so many animals already, some animals are very harmful to humans, and some are just completely pointless.

Endangered animals should not be saved

Why should endangered animals be saved like why not kill them off. Like we have over population so why not kill off the endangered species and destroy their habitats for more places for homes. So say if polar bears went extinct we could turn some of antarctica into homes but on the bad side they would be really cold homes.

Money….. Well it is quite expensive to try and save the endangered animals. The government pay a lot to try and help them and so do people like your parents and even your neighbours, it is called tax and it sucks. It pays for most things like new roads and new homes for the poor. Tax also pays for endangered animals ha rings a bell ay because that is what we are talking about and you are reading about yup definitely rings a bell.

So why do we even bother saving the endangered animals why waste money and places for cool looking homes.

Why endangered animals should NOT be saved

Endangered animals should NOT be saved! I think that they shouldn’t be saved for one, they’re endangered for a reason! They've either been killed by other animals for food, by us humans for food or other parts of their bodies or by natural disasters which will all have happened for a reason! Humans will also be happy if this happens because they'll be getting the parts they need to sell, eat or use.

Secondly, if we try to save all the endangered animals, we would use up all our time and money which is obviously important to lots of people who would rather be doing something else than trying to save animals that will end up dying anyways.

Lastly why do we even need all these types of animals in the world? If they die, they die what's the point in saving them? Some of them will just breed and some will die so maybe that's just how it should go, letting mother nature do her thing without anyone saving them all the time.

I hope I've changed your opinion on not saving endangered animals, because who actually needs them?
