Bye Lizzie
Hey there Lizzie. The class are really gutted that they didn't get a chance to say goodbye to you. We all wish you the best. It's great that you've been watching our progress since you left....Do you have Skype?? Maybe we can Skype your class???

Back To School Again !
Well, we are all back, safe and sound. I will get the kids to write up some new blogs about camp over the next week or so and get their thoughts on how the week went. For me, well...apart from the lack of sleep on some nights it was great fun. Lots and lots of giggles each day and some absolutley CLASSIC one liners!!
Will just relay one conversation.......
On Wednesday night, the girls went out camping with myself and Debbie. We had had a birthday party that evening for Kim as he turned 40 while we were away. The kids all had streamers/horns etc and were pretty wild......Around 11p.m. Jodie was getting pretty fed up with the boys talking in their dorm.....
"Boys, keep it down, I am fed up now. Any more noise and you will have to take your mattress off your bed and lay it outside my bedroom and sleep there for the night!"
Horn then gets blown by Keegan
"And any more horn blowing and you will also bring your mattress outside my bedroom!'
At this point, Dillon sits up on his bed and hands over his horn......
"Here, you'd better take this, I just can't help myself"
Oh me Oh my.....

CAMP IS NEARLY HERE!!!!
Term 2 has started already and Room 5 are very excited because on the 4th of May we are all going to Totarnui for our class camp for one week. We had to bring food donations to school which were cans of fruit and biscuits or home baking.
Some of the things we are doing on camp are long walks to Separation point, swimming and lots of activities like technology challenge, kayaking and lots more! The girls and the boys are going to camp out in a tent for one night each and will be cooking our own tea over the campfire. So basically we have to be responsible and do everything ourselves for one night.

Expressive Diary

Each week, our students are given the chance to 'express' themselves in their Expressive Diary. This is a book which allows their imagination to run wild. They are given either topics to write about or perhaps the first line will be given to them. Spelling, punctuation, grammar are not corrected in these books... we are simply looking the kids to get their ideas down on a page. Above are 2 which made it to our 'A1 Standards Table' this week, they are from Samara and Toma....

First Aid
All pupils underwent a 'People's First Aid Course' on the last Friday of Term 1. This is in preparation for when they go to camp in week 2 of Term 2. At least I know I will be in safe hands if something happens to me.....I have to say though, am not exactly sure about their bandaging skills!!???
