On a Friday our school (Broadgreen) had athletics day.
Firstly, the school sat on the field in the scorching hot sun. Hats and sunscreen was worn and whenever you had a chance you would sit in the shade for a moment of placid, cool relaxation. But also at the same time watching our peers trying their hardest to get a great score for their points card.
Secondly, I was with my group watching the swift movements of people sprinting past. The expression on their faces, the concentration makes you contemplate who is going to win? Group by group people were having their moment to shine and compete against others. It came up to my turn and I stood their waiting, waiting for that clapping ring in your ears for your body to instantly get into action.
Thirdly, at the end of the day everyone was drained. All the energy lost and replaced with exhaustion. I contemplated to myself, what a good day.
